DJ Kay Slay & Greg Street- The Champions

KOCH Records and Deja 34 (Shaquille O’Neal’s new venture) are proud to announce the upcoming release, The Champions – North Meets South, presented by DJ Kay slay and DJ Greg Street.

The new compilation album will be released on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006.

Few DJ’s embody real hip-hop the way DJ Kay slay does. A graffiti legend in the ‘80s, and later THE King of all mixtapes with his Streetsweepers series, respect on the streets for Kay slay is second to none. As the official “Drama King,” he was the first DJ to break landmark battles over the past decade including serving as referee for the now legendary Jay-Z vs. Nas battle and the brutal Ja Rule vs. 50 Cent war on the airwaves. Rappers consider Kay slay the go-to DJ to entrust their hottest battle raps with.

Kay slay now teams up with renowned southern radio DJ and producer Greg Street to bridge their two worlds together for a blockbuster album. The Champions – North Meets South showcases the best talent from each region on one CD. It includes exclusive tracks featuring Fat Joe, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Busta Rhymes, Papoose, Yung Joc, Remy Ma, Lloyd Banks, Three 6 Mafia, The Diplomats, Ghostface, Raekwon, Cassidy, B.G., David Banner, Lil’ Jon and many more.

The first single from the forthcoming release will be “Can’t Stop The Reign” featuring Bun B, Papoose and Shaquille O’Neal. The video was recently shot on location in Miami.

The Champions – North Meets South will be Kay slay’s 3rd frontline release. This follows his 2 Columbia releases, The Street Sweepers, Vol. 1, and The Street Sweepers Vol. 2: The Pain From The Game (released in 2003 and 2004 respectively), which together have sold over 350,000 copies. Kayslay is also the #1 DJ on New York’s premier hip hop radio station, Hot 97.

Alors la!!!!!Cette mixtape risque de faire TRES mal!!!A la base c'est parti d'un beef entre la East et le South!!Les hypothèses sont nombreuses : Le South aurait mal pris la nomination de DJ Kay Slay comme meilleur DJ de l'année,alors que DJ Smallz fait un carton avec ses "Southern Smoke"!Autrement dit une guerre de mixtapes!
Une autre hypothese serait que dans "Can't Stop The Reign",les rappeurs d'la East auraient cramé ceux du South d'ou le titre"Can't Stop The Reign"!
