The American Dream is the sophomore album from the houston rapper Mike Jones. The album was slated to release in April. The album has been on postpone for quite a while but now it has a new date February 14, 2007 is when the album will be released. Producers on the album are said to be Cool & Dre, Scott Storch, and many more. Guest include Paul Wall, Bun B, Pimp C, Trae, Z-Ro, Lil' Keke, and many more. Mike Jones has already shot a video for one of the songs but he has yet to said state which song it is. Rumored is the first single off the album is "Pourin' Up" featuring UGK.[citation needed], but the problem was that Pimp C used it for the first single of his album Pimpalation. Mike Jones had recently confirmed that The American Dream is being released on Valentine's Day 2007, and that the first single will be "Mr. Jones".

Mike Jones has reportedly started production on a film entitled American Dream, his debut project, which is co-executive produced by Asylum Records and Warner Bros. Records. American Dream is also the name of Mike Jones' sophomore CD, and the name of his newly created film production company.

American Dream, the movie, will chronicle Mike’s real life rise to fame as an aspiring rapper from the streets who finds his path in life through music.

Filming was reported to have started, in Mike Jones' hometown of Texas, August 28th and will continue on thru September 15th.

Mike Jones has enlisted a stellar cast including Producer Gregory Anderson who is best known for the independently produced Trois (Rain Forest Films), Producer Keith Paschall (videos for Britney Spears and Celine Dion), and Industry Indie staple Derrick Dixon as Director (noted for The Dirty Third).
